All Artemis Kilim shoes are handmade from vintage, hand-sourced Turkish carpets, which means that no two pairs will ever be alike. The Kilim Loafers pictured here are the actual pair that you will receive.

Details

Leather sole with 3/4 inch heel. Handmade in Istanbul in a small, family-owned workshop, by cobblers whose families have practiced the craft for generations. Kilims are a style of textile traditionally crafted on Turkey's Anatolian peninsula using wool, cotton, or silk. Kilims are flat-woven, featuring a thin, tight weave that make them a perfect textile for crafting shoes. Every symbol, color, and pattern woven into the Kilim has meaning and represents a hope, a dream, or a story from the life of the weaver.

Size & Fit

In these Artemis Loafers, we recommend selecting the European equivalent of the smallest US size you wear. For example, if you are usually a US 10, but sometimes wear a 9.5, order a 42 in the Kilim Loafer. In the open-back Kilim Slipper, order one size larger than that (a 43 for the previous example).
