Provenance
Gordon Modern is a classic tartan pattern: based on the Government tartan (Black Watch) but with a crispy yellow overcheck, it was designed by the 4th Duke of Gordon in 1793. Our lightweight Black Watch madras blazer is one of our favorites, but this is better for more rakish souls. Rather than produce this pattern in a madras, or a more traditional wool flannel, ours is a sturdy but breathable cotton canvas beautifully woven in Japan.
