Handmade cloisonné buttonhole badge included. Cross-stitched Latin motto TERRA MARIQVE under lapel. Rowing Blazers house button in brass, made in Connecticut. Unlined back. Self-lined fronts. Single button cuffs. Ventless. Props not included.

Size & Fit

This blazer has a modern cut and runs a little more snugly than most of our other blazers because of the hefty material.
36 runs short; 38-40 run regular. 42-46 come in both regular and long. Model is 5'11" and wears a 40.

Provenance

"I wanted to create an authentic, striped rowing blazer that was also eminently wearable. I also wanted to incorporate the color of the club with which I won Henley Royal Regatta in 2013: Baltic blue. As luck would have it, the shade looks brilliant with navy and cream. In the course of creating my book and accumulating my collection of vintage blazers, I realized there are certain ratios that look best when it comes to the width of the stripes. I think we got it just right on this one. We worked with a very historic mill in Scotland to produce the pattern in a heavyweight wool-cotton flannel. Under the lapel is the Latin phrase TERRA MARIQVE, “On land and sea,” a reference to the origins of the blazer as a practical jacket to be worn in rowing boats while training and racing, and its rapid adoption for use on terra firma, where, by the mid-19th century it was already a staple of the gentleman’s wardrobe." - Jack
