Notes

Japanese cotton jacket in cream and black Codex stripe. 3-roll-2 silhouette. Three patch pockets.

This is a Freshman Blazer. A Freshman Blazer is what you wear when you’re a member of the club (but barely). It’s the same colors, same stripes, same fabric and construction - but not quite polished and perfect enough to make the Varsity grade. These blazers are glorious, beautiful - but their stripes don’t quite line up between the front and back panels, or between the pocket and the body. Perfectly imperfect.

Details

Handmade cloisonné buttonhole badge included. Quarter-inch topstitch "swelled seam" detail. Unlined back. Self-lined fronts. Brass buttons. Single button cuffs. Ventless.

Size & Fit

This jacket has a modern cut.
36 runs short; 38-40 run regular. 42-46 available regular or long.

Provenance

Our blazers take over ten hours and several hundred steps to make - each - and because many of them are striped, there can be a lot of fabric wastage. Along the way, there are some that don’t come out quite right, and there are some that we make using smaller, leftover pieces of fabric - a practice we implement with our fun shirts and end-of-the-day rugbies too. These blazers are glorious, beautiful - but their stripes don’t quite line up between the front and back panels, or between the pocket and the body.

Normally these jackets end up in the hands of our younger team members. But for the first time - and as we get ready to (re)open our NYC flagship - we are offering a limited number of Freshman Blazers for sale online for the Freshman Price of $350. These will be available for the next two weeks (or until they’re gone!).

The Freshman Blazer. For those who appreciate sustainability, revel in imperfection, or who are basically punk freshmen at heart.
